"Kaizen Headshot Workshop was amazing! I had a lot of fun with Ne Tonya and Bashir. Learned so much from these two. They make an awesome team.
They showed us what the industry standard is and what to expect when dealing with clients. From greeting, posing, lighting technical stuff to post production.... "- Anwar Torres
"Had a great and fun learning experience with Kaizen Imagery's "Kaizen Headshot Workshop".
Bashir and NeTonya are very enthusiastic in sharing most of their experiences and knowledge in the industry that I think helped me get a good grasp of what to do in starting out in headshot photography.
I am also glad that both of them are very approachable and friendly which made me feel very comfortable asking different questions
I hope they'll have more workshops to come!" - Erika Serrano
"The workshop was fantastic. NeTonya and Bashir were able to take the essentials of shooting headshots and running a headshot business and squeeze it into a fun filled, stress free and effective 5 hour package for a bargain price. To top it off, they also served a really nice selection of juices, coffee and pizza for lunch. Thanks to this workshop, I've already shot one headshot session and have another six lined up in the next couple of weeks."

According to the Screen Actors Guild, there are 71,426 actors registered with their Hollywood Division alone. That's doesn't include non-union actors, which is probably double that figure. There is a huge market of actors required to have headshots in order to further their careers. Which means, there is also a huge need for photographers to shoot those headshots. What we need to understand as photographers, is that there's a difference between shooting a pretty image and shooting a headshot for an actor, which will yeild more business.
Actors are special clients. They're not coming to you just to shoot a pretty picture, they need a photographer who can accurately capture the personality of the type of character that they typically play. Perfecting the actors headshot is an opportunity for photographers to not only make a consistent income, but to impact lives by helping actors achieve their dreams - but only if you give them what they want.
It might be shocking, but composition, image quality and even lighting are not on the top of an actor's list when they need a headshot. Their main concerns are:
- Will my headshot get me called into auditions?
- Will my headshot look like the person who walks into the casting office?
- Will my headshot clearly convey the character that I am typically cast for?
Simplicity, connection to the photographer, and making your client feel as comfortable as possible is key to getting an amazing headshot and repeat business. Join us for this workshop where you will shoot and learn the following:
- Industry Trends & Standards
- Marketing
- Wardrobe, hair and makeup
- Gear, lighting and composition
- What to do during the shoot to get the best out of your client
- Ongoing relationships with talent agencies
- Image delivery & retouching
- Nurturing client relationships |
